Last year, we began a discussion about ways to connect academic and school libraries in a more coordinated effort to equip K-12 students with essential research skills and information literacy foundations that support lifelong learning. Since then, we've taken action. A new working group of school and academic librarians is actively collaborating to reach young students statewide, including those in schools without librarians. We also conducted a survey of school and academic librarians to identify the most critical skills students need, the gaps that hinder their readiness for higher education, and opportunities to build a seamless K-20 pipeline of support.

Join us as we share our progress, discuss emerging ideas, and invite you to help shape our next steps. Through interactive discussion, we’ll explore ways to strengthen collaboration between school and academic librarians to ensure students are prepared for the complex information landscapes of both higher education and life beyond the classroom.
